Winner's Pick Jump Race Series Empty Winner's Pick Jump Race Series

Post by Cody Kerr Fri Feb 03, 2012 9:23 pm

Taking a step away from well preped cars and series we usually run, wouldn't it be nice if once every week or so everyone in Heat got together to just race a winner's pick night?

Here's what I have in mind...

Once each or every other week, we all jump in on a public server and just race for the sake of racing. When someone wins a race, they are given the privlage to choose the next race at a track from a list. Each race would last no more than 10 laps. At the end of the night, all the wins are totaled together and the driver w/ the most Ws takes the night.

Maybe even Rev. could work with other leagues to promote the Winner's Pick nights. A driver would NOT need to be part of Rev or coordinating leagues to race in the event. You know, this way we can all just jump in and race for the fun; One Heat so to speak...

I figured we could have an inauguration race the night of the 500 with 2012 Cup. I mean, everyone will be in the servers anyway, like last year.

I like the idea, considering we do not have anything scheduled. We did this last year when daytona_RPV came out

was thinking if you wanted to run it we could do a rotation.
    ie
Week 1: TMS G3 Cup (Daytona, pocono richmond, etc)
Week 2: Indycars (Indy, birmingham, watkins glen, las vegas, texas etc)
Week 3: LCH (some LCH schedule tracks)
    Week 4: Something else etc
And have those rotate using identical setups.

I think we would have to do it maybe every other week. Another thing, all the leagues we work with could choose which mod they race for their night. So say NHRL could choose NHRL Trucks to race one week. And the next, we could race LCH. Then we could race one of the OWA series.

I think we could set up some type of tounrament. Like each league could have it's own team of drivers. The team with the most wins at the end of the final jump race would win the Team Championship.

So long as we can convince other league owners to jump on board, we could get this whole thing going! I also think we could allow drivers to sign to multiple teams, because there's not many people who race in one league only.

Raceday would have to be mutually decided upon by all leagues. Sundays would likely be off, as well as Wednesday. And in the even that this is possible, we may have to schedule the Jump race based on which night that mod is used in a league. Like the Jump race for Rev would be on Sunday and the Jump race for LCH would be whatever night LCH is ran.

I really have no clue what we would do about time. Remember, drivers and leagues both have time zone variations.

Let's see, we could start somewhat early and just go until there's no-one left to race; which could be awhile. Whichever league's night it is would be in-charge of setups. And each win would count as one point for the winning driver's team(s).

We'll see what date we can work out. If we must, we can do it during the summer. Giving us the chance to get all the leagues on board for a one specific night.

It would still be just for fun, but I suppose Jump Championships is far fetched for a smaller game.
